Many of you will recognize these three cute faces as you browse through their images, but for those who don't know, they are my younger siblings! I took them out for an afternoon of photo-taking as part of an anniversary gift to my parents.
The kids kindly volunteered (well, sort of...with some coercion) to help me write the blog post for their photos, so each of them has contributed a short blurb about the day. =)
"My favorite part of the day was getting to see all the peacocks. That was the first time I got to see peacocks in real life. They are really pretty and colorful with lots of blue on them. (They matched my shirt!) I am glad I got to have them in some of my pictures!" - Evan
"We got to go to the park with Erin for our photo shoot, which was really exciting! My favorite part of the day was getting to spend time with family, but it was also cool to be almost close enough to the peacocks to reach out and touch them. At one point, I scared Anna by telling her there was a bear a few hundred feet away from us. There was a large poster with a photograph of a bear on it over near the zoo enclosure. Anna believed that it was a real bear and was pretty scared. It was great! I also liked standing on the train tracks for one of the pictures. It was an amazing day!" - Andy
"Well, I
had a bit of a blonde moment at the park when Andy pointed to a large
photograph of a bear and told me there was a real bear not far from us. I
thought the photo was a real bear and was actually pretty scared! I got
over it, though, and the rest of the day was really fun! I enjoyed
wearing Erin's sweater and my furry boots (yay for cooler weather!)." - Anna
The park is home to a few dozen (at least) wild
peacocks that roam
freely. We saw so many throughout the afternoon. I think Evan was the
most excited to see them, but all three of the kids wanted to make sure
they had a "peacock portrait" included in their photos.
